Loris Gréaud «Cellar Door»

«Cellar Door» is a perennial series of projects in which Loris Gréaud is searching for answers to profound questions regarding the production of art. Next to exhibitions (amongst others) at the ICA in London, the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, and the Kunst Halle Sankt Gallen («Cellar Door - Never Shies Away from Adopting Bootleg Versions of itself into its Family», 22 November 2008 – 25 January 2009) it comprises an opera staged at the Paris Opera, a studio space that Gréaud is building for himself on the outskirts of Paris as well as the film «One Thousand Ways To Enter» (2008–11) and the sculpture «The Great Book of Captions» (2011). The publication documents the complex project in its entirety and is accompanied by an extensive essay by Pascal Rousseau.?Published with Kunst Halle Sankt Gallen, St. Gallen; La Conservera, Murcia; Kunsthalle Wien, Vienna; Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA), London, Palais de Tokyo, Paris. With the support of The Pace Gallery, New York, and Yvon Lambert, Paris.
